Adjusting to life after the diagnosis of CF can be confusing with so much information to absorb and so many things to incorporate into your schedule. Recognizing this, the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation developed Clinical Care Schedule for Newborns to 5 Year Olds. CFF notes:
Clinical care guidelines for the management of both infants and preschoolers with cystic fibrosis have been published. This table combines the recommended care management schedules from those publications. Please note while this schedule is intended as a guide, individual circumstances will dictate the timing and care provided.
The information is presented in a grid which lists a wide range of clinical activities broken into the categories of care issues, testing/assessment and education. Recommended intervals are indicated with a symbol for “do,” “consider,” “attempt” and “perform quarterly.”
