CFFC publishes tidbits of information about CF and CFFC on its Facebook page with historical information is posted on “Throwback Thursdays” (TBT) and Monday posts under the heading “Did You Know” (DYK). Here are the post for October.

  1. October 8th: TBT – Mutations in the CFTR gene result in proteins that may not function, may work less effectively, are more quickly degraded, or are present in inadequate numbers.
  2. October 12th: DYK – The recently approved drug ORKAMBI helps to get more F508del CFTR proteins to the cell surface and helps the CFTR proteins at the cell surface work better.
  3. October 29th: TBT – The Andrew W. Eve Scholarship Fund was established in November 2007.
